The Third Age: The Lord of the Rings [Frodo]

Born in 2968 of the Third Age, the son of Drogo Baggins and Primula Brandybuck and latter became the Ring-bearer. Orphaned in childhood, he was adopted by his cousin, Bilbo Baggins. Frodo lived with Bilbo at Bag End for twelve years, and inherited some of his peculiarities. In 3001, Bilbo held the great Birthday Party on 22 September (a birthday Frodo happened to share) and afterwards departed from the Shire, leaving Frodo to come into his inheritance, including (after much persuasion by Gandalf) the One Ring.

In 3018, Gandalf the Wizard reappeared and set Frodo on the Quest of the Ring to Rivendell where the Fellowship of the Ring was formed. Frodo just survived the many adventures and perils of the journey, but succeeded in delivering the One Ring to the fires of Mount Doom. Thus, Frodo brought about the end of the War of the Ring. After the War, returned to Bg End, but the poison wounds and mental trama he experienced during the Quest began to tell. In 3021, Frodo embarked on the Last Riding of the Keepers of the Rings, and boarded and Elven ship and sailed to the Undying Lands.
